Frequently Asked Questions

Opening an Abell Money business account is quick and easy:

  • Fill out a short online form — it only takes about 2 minutes of your time in total
  • We'll need a picture ID (passport or driving licence) and a prooof of address from the last three months for all directors and controlling shareholders. If you are a sole trader we just need your ID and proof of address. And some details including your company number, website if you have one, trading name if you have one, trading address if you have one and primary contact details.
  • Once approved which should be very quick, we'll set up your account, and you will receive an email with login details. It's that simple
  • Don't worry if you don't have everything to hand just fill in what you have and we will follow up to gather anything that is missing.

In exceptional cases, we may need to reach out to confirm a few details or leave you a message on your application, guiding you through the required information or documentation.

Abell Money provides banking services through a partnership with ClearBank. Your money is always protected and secure as it is held at ClearBank. We're regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and your eligible deposits are protected up to £85,000 through our partner bank's FSCS protection.

To open an Abell Money business account, the following requirements must be met:

  • Your business must be trading or about to start trading
  • Your company must be trading in the UK and we cannot accept businesses that are incorporated abroad currently
  • We don't discriminate against industries or nationalities unlike many highstreet banks
